GAMCOY 21 CONDUCTS LIVE FIRING EXERCISE IN DARFUR

Contingent Second-in-Command with troops on conduction of Normal Safety Precaution

The Gambian Contingent 21(GAMCOY 21) in Darfur, Sudan conducted Live Firing exercise at the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) 6 Division Military shooting Range from the 13th to 14th October 2018. The shooting range is located 21-kilometers North of El-Fasher, the political capital of Darfur.

The two-day exercise was a vigorous one which saw soldiers display their marksmanship skills and some tactical drills while on vehicle patrol.

Live Firing exercise is one of the requirements laid down by the United Nations African Union Mission in Darfur (UNAMID) for all Troop Contributing Countries (TCC).

This is to enable them conduct a Live Firing exercise on a quarterly basis during their tour of duty.
