The Gambia Armed Forces female volleyball team, champions of the 2018 Gambia Volleyball Federation wins the 2019 International Sub- regional Championship held in the Senegalese region of st Louis on Sunday 13th January 2019.
The head coach Lamin F Badjie expressed gratitude to the Gambia Armed Forces high command for the opportunity given to them to participate beyond the borders of the country. Badjie added that his aim in the championship was to reach the final and win it; he said winning this trophy is a mission accomplished.
Mariama Sowe the team captain also shared the same words of gratitude to the Army High Command. The exposure they are getting in participating in the international games will help them gain more experience in the game of volleyball, because this is their second international trophy they have won for the army. In 2017 they won the championship in Ziguinchor.
