A peacekeeping environment is always a tough and unsafe milieu.This is due to unpredictable nature of the operations. But no matter what, soldiers carry out their mandate and even go beyond to better situations on the ground.

Most parts of Darfur is covered with deserts and mountains therefore it attracts the presumption that the land is not arable, but the series of Gambian Peacekeeping Contingents (GAMCOYs) have defied odds and proved to the people that the land is indeed fertile and arable.

Meanwhile, Gamcoy 21 presently in Darfur harvested peanuts in addition to the wide range of vegetables from the Gambia Camp in El-fasher.
