The attention of the Defence Headquarters Gambia Armed Forces has been drawn to the unfounded and substantiated news trending on several online platforms, newspapers and other media/information outlets over the alleged arrest of some soldiers planning to overthrow the government. This report is not only malicious but meant to tarnish the good image of the Gambia Armed Forces. The Gambia Armed Forces under the watch of Lt Gen Masanneh N Kinteh remains a professionally responsive force in the discharge of its constitutional roles.
Consequently, the general public is requested to disregard the report circulated by bloggers, handlers and influencers on various social media platforms. The report is not only untrue but also aimed at deceiving innocent Gambians with intent to discredit the genuine efforts of the Gambia Armed Forces in the discharge of her constitutional roles. The public is further enjoined to continue to give the Gambia Armed Forces the needed support and cooperation. Together we shall build a better Gambia.
