Major Gen Francios Ndiaye the Inspector General (IG) of the Senegalese Armed Forces and his delegation on Wednesday 27 March 2019 paid a courtesy call on the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) Lieutenant General Masanneh N Kinteh at the Defence Headquarters in Banjul.
The ten man delegation was received at the (GAF) headquarters on behalf of the CDS by his counterpart Brigadier General Alagie Martin the GAF IG together with Senior Officers and as well as officers on technical assistance from the African Union. A splendid Quarter Guard was mounted by the Guards Battalion in his honour as standard military ceremonial practice.
Part of his visit is to strengthen the existing cordial relations between the two sisterly countries and their armed forces in particular, discuss security challenges and a way forward, and as well as to avail himself the opportunity to meet the Senegalese troops in the Gambia that form part of the ECOMIG Forces, and also to meet the Commander- in- Chief of the Armed Forces H.E President Adama Barrow.
