1.The Gambia Armed Forces hereby informs the general public that it would conduct a selection for potential Officer Cadets. To be eligible for selection, prospective candidates must meet the following criteria:
a. The candidate must be a Gambian as defined in the Constitution of the Gambia 1997 (as amended).
b. Candidate must be between the ages of 18 and 25 years.
c. Candidates must be a holder of at least first University Degree Bsc/BA etc.
d. Candidates must be medically fit (mentally and physically).
e. Must not have been convicted by any court of law.
f. Must be prepared to undergo Basic Military Training.
g. Recommended by at least two recognizable referees who must attest to the applicants’ character and integrity.
2. Interested candidates can obtain application forms at a fee of D200 (two hundred dalasis) from the following locations:
a. Defence Headquartes, Gambia Armed Forces,3 Marina Parade Banjul.
b. Yundum Barracks.
c. Fajara Barracks
- Duly completed forms along with photocopies of school certificates, Birth certificates, National Identity Card, Four passports size photographs, Medical Certificate and Certificate of Character should be submitted in sealed envelopes to either place of sale or to Defence Headquarters, the Gambia Armed Forces, 3 Marina Parade, Banjul on or before 30 September 2019.
- Successful applicants will be short listed and the list will be available for public viewing at the Defence Headquarters. The dates for the selection process will be communicated in due course.
- Applicants are hereby warned to desist from duplication of application forms. Photocopied application forms will not be accepted. Every application forms must carry an original stamp, signature, and serial number.
