PRESS RELEASE FOR RECRUITMENT INTO THE GAMBIA ARMED FORCES
1. The Gambia Armed Forces hereby informs the general public that it will conduct a recruitment exercise for possible enlistment into the Gambia Armed Forces for officer cadets, regular soldiers and tradesperson. Prospective candidates must fulfil the following minimum criteria:
a. Must be a Gambian by birth.
b. Must possess a minimum education of grade 12 or equivalent school leaving certificate with at least 6 credits including English and Mathematics for officer cadets.
c. Must possess a minimum education of grade 9 school leaving certificate with at least 5 passes including English and Mathematics for regular soldiers.
d. Trades men/women shall possess certificate/knowledge in the following areas:
(1) Carpentry , (2) Masonry, (3) Electrician,
(4) Plumbing, (5) Welding, (6) Aluminum Window/door Fabricator,
(7) Plastering & Suspended Ceiling, (8)A/C Technician.
e. Be between the ages of 18-22 years for officer cadets.
f. Be between the ages of 18-25 years for Regular soldiers.
g. Be between the ages of 18-28 years for tradesmen.
h. Tradesmen must provide the appropriate certificates and documents for proof of skills.
2. Interested candidates can obtain application forms from any of the following military establishment at a non-refundable fee of D100.00 (one hundred dalasis only).
a. Defense Headquarters, the Gambia Armed Forces, 3 Marina Parade, Banjul.
b. Fajara Barracks, Bakau.
c. 1 Infantry Battalion, Yundum Barracks, Yundum.
d. 2 Infantry Battalion, Farafenni Barracks, Farafenni.
e. 3 Infantry Battalion, Basse.
f. Gambia Navy, Wharf Ngago, Banjul.
g. 4 Infantry Battalion, Kanilai.
3. Duly completed forms along with photocopies of School Certificates, Birth Certificates, National Identity Card or Passport, and Four (4) passports size photographs should be submitted to any of the above mentioned military establishment on or before Friday 19 July 2024.
4. Applicants are hereby warned to desist from duplication of application forms. Photocopied application forms will not be accepted. Every application form must carry an original serial number.
