Speaking at the occasion, the outgoing Contico Lieutenant Colonel Trawally expressed his happiness and satisfaction in the successful completion of his contingent’s tour of duty in Darfur. He applauded the efforts of his contingent for their unrelenting and unflinching support towards what he described as a success story. Admonishing the incoming contingent he however advised them to work as one and focus their energies towards the success of the directives of their Contico and the mission as a whole.

For his part, the Contico of Gamcoy 21 acknowledged the efforts of his predecessor in laying down a level playing field for him to play on. He promised that his contingent shall strive to do more so that the name that Gambian Contingents have made for themselves is taken to another level.

The occasion was witnessed by some key appointment holders of the two contingents who also took turns to conduct a comprehensive handing and taking over of their roles and responsibilities.
