The Turkish Government through her Embassy here in the Gambia on Tuesday 15 January 2019 donated to the Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) some non-lethal military kits. The handing over which was held in the prem
ises of the Defence Headquarters in Banjul, was graced by the Turkish ambassador to The Gambia, Ismail Sefa Yuceer, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) of GAF lieutenant General Masanneh N Kinteh, Service Chiefs, Senior Officers, Officers and Men of GAF.
Ambassador Ismail Sefa Yuceer, stated that the relationship between his country and the Gambia is a cordial and long standing relationship. He asserted that the Turkish government have being providing training and support to the GAF as well as supporting the development agenda of the Gambia. In concluding he thanked the CDS GAF for being an enabler in strengthening the bilateral relationship that exists between both countries.
In receiving the materials, the CDS thanked the Turkish government for their timely and exceptional support to the GAF. He appeal for more support from partners whilst stating that the year 2019 will be a turning point for the Gambia Armed forces.
