Education is a key in any nation’s development since it builds and prepares future leaders. Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) Education is not an exception. GAF education Service was created in November 2011. The Unit is responsible for ensuring quality education in the three schools established by the GAF. Hitherto, Battalion Commanders were responsible for the supervision of schools in their Units. However, due to their huge and pressing tasks, Commanders often pay little attention to the development of these schools.
The aim of this project is to highlight the needs to develop and expand GAF Nursery School program to Lower Basic, Upper Basic and Senior Secondary as already started with Yundum barracks so as to provide quality, affordable, accessible education to the families of offers and soldiers staying within and outside Military Barracks and neighbors in a friendly and safe learning environment.
