The Gambia Armed Forces on Friday 20 March 2020 procured tap fitted water containers together with hygiene kits including detergents as part of the on-going fight against the Coronavirus.
This development comes on the heels of initial steps taken by the defence institution on its sensitization and prevention crusade earlier last week. It is gratifying that these sensitization efforts and preventive methods have been confirmed as the right measures by the World Health Organization designed to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
States around the world are currently grappling with the spread and rise in the number of cases reported causing even smaller ones like The Gambia to raise the awareness level of her people. The roles that institutions play collectively would go a long way in successfully combating the COVID-19 virus. And, the Gambia Armed Forces would continue to play such roles to fight against the spread of the Coronavirus in the Gambia. With concerted efforts, COVID19 could be defeated.
