The Gambia Armed Forces (GAF) joined the rest of the commonwealth nations on Sunday 11th November 2018 in observance of Remembrance Day in a form of a military parade and laying of wreaths at the McCarthy Square in Banjul.
The occasion was commemorated with a colorful parade conducted by the Gambia National Army, the Republican National Guards and the Gambia Navy. Remembrance Day is celebrated to mark the end of the First World War and also honor those who had sacrificed their lives during world war I and World War II.
In attendance, during the ceremony were the Vice president Honorable Ousainou Darboe, the Chief of Defence Staff GAF, other security service heads, Veterans and their families and the general public.
