The Gambia Armed Forces in her quest to solidify her fulfillment of her mandate to safeguard the territorial and sovereignty of the nation has equipped the Navy’s Maritime Operation Centre (MOC) with a Radar and modern VHF radios, as well as upgraded the Automatic Identification System (AIS).
The newly installed Radar and upgrades will provide the Navy with “a bird’s eye view” to track and get real time data on activities within the Gambian waters. These important systems will enable the navy to have 24/7 real time surveillance on activities on our sea and make analysis for better informed decisions on naval activities.
